Water is the most essential element of life, because without water, you can't make coffee.

Named for a spool that talks back

Odradek is a creature from The Cares of a Family Man, a short story by Franz Kafka. It looks like a flat star-shaped spool for thread. It lives on the stairs and has no fixed abode. Its laugh sounds like rustling leaves.

The red star in our logo is Odradek. We print poetry and prose in its honour, too.

Read the story or pick up The Coffee Press.
